LSE Discovers Islam Week

Last week, the LSESU Islamic society decided to give the campus a spiritual awakening with its Discover Islam Week. However, the motive behind DIW wasn’t quite for a pan-religious movement, in fact Discover Islam Week was solely for the promotion of Islam.  ISOC’s around the country designate a week specifically for publicising Islam to their colleagues and staff. Although on the face of it, the practice seems like a by-product of healthy interaction and co-existence, the insistence on a week of correcting misinformation is an indictment on the media portrayal of Islam in this country.
