Dewsbury’s Paradise Free School plans take a step forward

PLANS to convert a fee-paying Islamic school into a free school are a step closer to fruition.

The application by Paradise Primary Free School Trust (PPFST) in Dewsbury has progressed to the second stage of the approval process. The Department for Education (DfE) will now interview the trust’s project team later this month.

Their final decision will be made public in late spring.

Project manager Abdul Patel said: “I am delighted that the DfE are keen to hear more about our proposal and look forward to discussing it with them.

“I would like to thank all the parents and residents of Dewsbury who have backed our proposal. I would encourage others to show their support by registering their interest on the school’s website or by contacting the team.”
