A WAITER was jailed for 23 years yesterday for leaving a British woman for dead after raping and stabbing her on the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca.
The horrific assault on Cheryl Maddison, 25 – who has waived her right to anonymity – only ended when the grievously injured young model played dead.
She suffered multiple stab wounds and a collapsed lung.
Once the attacker left, she ran out into the street naked and called for help before collapsing.
As Moroccan-born Mohamed Fadel El Anssari, 31, was handed the lengthy sentence, she said: “I’m over the moon, I couldn’t be happier.”
