Dumfries couple fed-up with mosque motorists blocking their driveway

A plan to transform a Dumfries mosque store room into overnight accommodation has been slammed by the building’s neighbours.

The Dumfries Islamic Society wants to create a place of residency for leaders to stay in during religious events such as Ramadan.

But Annan Road residents claim this would only add to existing noise and car parking problems.

Raymond and Eleanor Ingram have launched a petition against the application, claiming they have “had enough”.

Mr Ingram, 71, said: “People attending the mosque park across our and our neighbours’ driveways, the pavements, and they come and go at all hours and keep us awake.
