Tories' ties to the Conservative Arab Network.

Lord Feldman of Elstree has cut ties to the Conservative Arab Network, an organisation set up to improve the Tories’ relations with the estimated 700,000 people of Arab descent in Britain and with Arab countries overseas.

The peer wrote to the group’s chairman, Dr Wafik Moustafa, ordering the GP from Ealing, west London, to stop using the Conservative logo on its website and letterhead.
“Make clear to those who you invite to your events that this network is an independent organisation and not currently affiliated to the party,” Feldman instructed him.

In his short letter, sent on March 14, the peer said the party’s board, of which he is chairman, had carried out a review of affiliated groups. It had decided to refuse to allow the Conservative Arab Network (CAN) formal status because of unspecified “concerns”.
