Police are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault on Great Pulteney Street near the junction of Beak Street in the early hours of September 30;

The 24-year-old victim told police that he had his phone snatched while leaving a nightclub on Wardour Street and he ran through Soho in pursuit of a suspect.

He was then approached by another group of four males, who viciously attacked him by pushing him to the ground, before kicking him repeatedly about the head and body.

He suffered a fractured skull, perforated ear drum, and significant cuts and bruises.

Detectives from the Westminster Serious Violence Team are trying to identify the suspects who were described as a group of four Asian males aged in their mid 20s - 30s and were wearing smart-casual clothing at the time.

The devil's work

Hackers have attacked the French site of the Euromillions lottery, attacking it as the ‘devil’s work’ and posting Koranic verse in place of its homepage.

The messages warned people to quit gambling and consuming alcohol, saying that they were used by the devil, both of which are forbidden in Islam, to “sow hatred between yourselves and turn you away from God and prayer”.

Posted in both French and Arabic, it read: “Oh you believers. Wine, games of chance, statues all augur impurity and are the work of the devil.” A hacking group calling itself “Morrocanghosts” claimed responsibility for the attack.

Euromillions lottery operator La Francaise des jeux (FDJ) said that none of its other games were affected after the attack, which French media reports said happened yesterday morning. The Euromillions homepage was unavailable last night and is currently redirecting visitors to the FDJ page.

A statement on that site said that all pages hit by the hackers were in “the process of being put back up”. The company added that no personal data was compromised during the attack.

The Twitter user MorrocanGhosts posted a message yesterday in Arabic which read: “After hours ... will penetrate the global gambling sites .. (O ye who believe alcohol and gambling ...”

France has a population of 65 million, including an estimated four million Muslims, the largest Islamic population in western Europe.

The EuroMillions lottery, launched in 2004, is now played by nine countries across western Europe: Austria, Belgium, Britain, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.

More than 100 million euros are up for grabs in a EuroMillions jackpot to be played on Tuesday.

mussie jailed for stealing iPhones from Birmingham students

A TEENAGER has been jailed for stealing iPhones from students in Birmingham City Centre.

Abdimajid Adan, from Milner Court, Bordesley Green, set upon the four friends after he spotted them using their handsets in Broad Street on April 18.

The 18-year-old appeared at Birmingham Crown Court where he admitted robbery and was sent to a young offenders’ facility for 21 months.

Another 18-year-old from Handsworth, found by a police dog hiding in a doorway after the robbery, is also awaiting sentence.

The conviction comes as police launch a major mobile phone theft awareness campaign urging people to keep their mobiles safe.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Parsons, who heads up Operation Network, said: “Robberies like this are down by almost a third with 1,400 fewer victims since April compared to the same period in 2011.

“However, the number of pick-pocket and ‘sweeping’ style offences, with thieves cruising pubs, clubs and cafes, are on the increase so it’s vital that people keep property safe.”

Another Western journalist sexually assaulted in Tahrir Square, "Raped by dogs... urinated on...

There were reports that her left breast was bitten and that the entire left nipple was bitten off.

The name of another Western female journalist who's been sexually attacked in Cairo's historic Tahrir Square has just been added to the ever growing list of shame.

The litany of assaults range from being raped by dogs, to being publically stripped naked to the delight of the attackers, to being anally raped as well as being urinated and masturbated upon.

The Latest...

Though details are sparse, the French news agency France 24 is reporting that one of their journalists, Sonia Dridi was;

"sexually assaulted by a crowd of men while reporting on a demonstration at Cairo's Tahrir Square."

As the specifics slowly are given to the public, France 24 has released that Dridi had just completed;

"a live news report at around 10:30pm on Friday when a crowd of men teemed around her, shoving and grabbing at her body."

Earlier Last Year...

During January of last year, France 24 also reported that two other Western reporters covering the massive demonstrations at Tahrir Square were raped.

One by dogs, the other by men.

Egyptian-American freelance journalist Mona Eltahawy stated she was detained by Cairo police after being an active participant in one of the many Tahrir demonstrations.

Eltahawy stated;

"5 or 6 surrounded me, groped and prodded my breasts, grabbed my genital area and I lost count how many hands tried to get into my trousers."

But the worse was yet to come for the New York based reporter;

"Besides beating me, the dogs of (central security forces) subjected me to the worst sexual assault ever."

In the same article, it was reported that Frenchwoman Caroline Sinz of the public television channel France 3, stated that while covering the protests, she was;

"Violently beaten and sexually assaulted while covering the protests.

We were filming in Mohammed Mahmud street when we were mobbed by young people who were about 14 or 15."

Sinz also stated;

"'We were then assaulted by a crowd of men.

I was beaten by a group of youngsters and adults who tore my clothes' and then molested her in a way that 'would be considered rape.'"

British journalist Natasha Smith was also violently assaulted in June, 2012, while covering the Arab Spring uprisings.

As Smith posted on her public weblog;

"Men began to rip off my clothes.

    I was stripped naked.

Their insatiable appetite to hurt me heightened.

These men, hundreds of them, had turned from humans to animals."

Smith went on to write:

"Hundreds of men pulled my limbs apart and threw me around.

They were scratching and clenching my breasts and forcing their fingers inside me in every possible way.

    So many men.

All I could see was leering faces, more and more faces sneering and jeering as I was tossed around like fresh meat among starving lions."

Prior to being disguised in men's clothing and ultimately covered by a burqa, Smith tells of her own personal "Come to Jesus" moment:

"At this point, I said aloud to myself, calmly, over and over, 'please God.

    Please make it stop.

    Please God.

    Please make it stop.'"

The episode most familiar to Americans was the attack on Lara Logan of CBS News.

In an academic paper for the University of California at Los Angeles, Dr. Dawn Perlmutter, Director of the Institute for the Research of Organized and Ritual Violence wrote of the attack last Spring on Logan;

"YouTube and some Arab websites reported that at least six men raped her vaginally, and a number of men raped her anally.

She was also masturbated and urinated on.

There were reports that her left breast was bitten and that the entire left nipple was bitten off."

South Yorkshire immigrants’ sham marriages smashed

A SHAM marriage gang staged fake weddings with Eastern European brides so Pakistani men could enter the UK illegally, a court heard.

Czech and Slovak women living in the UK were paid by Asian organisers to fly to Pakistan where ‘marriages’ were arranged with Pakistani men.

Supported by false documents, applications for visas were submitted to the British High Commission in Islamabad by Pakistanis seeking to join their ‘wives’ in the UK.

But suspicions over the growing number of applications led to the Rotherham-based ring being smashed – and none of the 62 applications was granted.

Prosecutor Sarah Wright told Sheffield Crown Court: “It was a well-run, professional and commercial operation over a considerable time.”

The weddings included brides posing for photos with their ‘grooms’ pretending they were getting married.
One 25-year-old Czech woman claimed to have been ‘married’ three times in four months and another was found with £1,000 in her bag when she returned to the UK.

Eighteen defendants are now facing jail when they are sentenced at a later date.

In a series of three trials – which can only now be reported after restrictions were lifted – seven defendants were found guilty of conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration from 2009 to 2011. Another 11 pleaded guilty – but two main organisers are on the run.

Ms Wright told the court: “The aim was to try to enable the applicants to enter the UK unlawfully. Although some took part in what appear to be wedding ceremonies with the applicants in Pakistan, the women clearly had no intention of living with them in settled and genuine relationships.”

A total of 62 fraudulent visa applications were linked to 32 addresses in the UK, and false documents were traced to an address in Broom Grove, near Rotherham town centre.

It was the semi-detached home of the alleged organisers – brothers Talib Hussain, 41, and Tariq Mehmood, 27 – plus Rahina Zaman, 32, and Veronika Horvathova, 21.

Forged documents were also found in a bag in the attic at the home on the same street of Mohammed Ramzan, 59, and his wife Musserat Bi, 31. Bi was cleared of conspiracy.

Mehmood, of Allan Street, Clifton, and Veronika Horvothova, of Lindley Street, St Ann’s, are on the run.

Scottish Islamic lobbying group faces closure

A Islamic lobbying group with close links to the SNP leadership is being wound up after spending £200,000 of taxpayers' money with almost nothing to show for it.

The Scottish Islamic Foundation (SIF), which was launched by Alex Salmond and includes an SNP minister among its former directors, is in "pre-dissolution" and six months late in filing its annual accounts at Companies House.

All but one of its board members have resigned, and its phone line and website are offline.
Launched in July 2008, the group was intended to improve community relations, raise awareness of the Muslim faith and help its young leaders.

However, it was dogged by claims of cronyism because of its many ties to the SNP.
Its first chief executive, Osama Saeed, 32, was a former aide to Mr Salmond and an SNP candidate for the Westminster seat of Glasgow Central.

Despite lacking a track record, SIF was awarded £405,000 in grants from the SNP Government within months of its creation. SIF then over-promised by announcing it would hold the country's biggest ever celebration of Islamic Culture in Glasgow in June 2009.

Mr Salmond predicted IslamFest would be "an enormous event for Glasgow and for Scotland". However, the project collapsed and SIF was forced to repay £128,000, after £72,000 had been spent on development.

SIF turned its attention to holding an Islamic financial event called Etisal, scheduled for November 2009, but that too fell through. Ultimately, half the £400,000 grant was withheld.

Glasgow list MSP Humza Yousaf, 27, was a director of SIF Ltd from May 2008 to September 2009. He was made Minister for External Affairs and International Development last month. He said: "People always criticise organisations. Some of that criticism will be fair, some misplaced."

Labour MSP Paul Martin said: "All public money must be spent wisely and the collapse of this organisation which has left little or no impact for the Scottish Muslim community raises questions about the involvement of SNP members."

A Scottish Government spokeswoman said: "During the financial years 2007-08 to 2010-11, we approved total funding of £405,752 to SIF.

"Due to SIF's failure to deliver its agreed outcomes during this period, £202,460 was withheld. This resulted in grant payments totalling £203,292 being made. The funding resulted in a series of events to help tackle Islamophobia in March and April 2010."

Past SIF directors did not return calls.

‘Met seized my Ferrari, they found out I was a sheikh, then gave it back’

The son of a billionaire sheikh today claimed that police handed back his confiscated £200,000 supercar, and said: “Arab money talks.”

Seized: the Ferrari FF supercar outside New Scotland Yard and, inset, Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al NuaimiThe car was displayed outside New Scotland Yard to highlight a campaign against uninsured drivers ordered by Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe.

The Met said it would be auctioned or crushed unless its owner, 28, who was stopped in South Kensington, produced the correct paperwork. But it has now been returned.

Sheikh Rashid, son of the Emir of Ajman, which is nicknamed “little Dubai”, today posted photos of the car on his Facebook page with a triumphant message and a smiley face.

He boasted: “My Ferrari got seized in London, then they found out who i was and gave it back,” and added: “Arab money talks :D”. However, Scotland Yard said the car was returned after the owner obtained insurance, produced a valid driving licence and paid a fine, recovery fee and storage costs.

The 200 foreign suspects arrested each day by Met: But as figures soar, number of deportations falls

Almost 200 foreign criminal suspects were arrested every day by the country’s largest police force last year.

Just over 72,500 – a third of the total arrested – were held by the Metropolitan Police and questioned about crimes including murder, rape, robbery and fraud.

The figure is up almost a quarter on two years ago when 58,870 non-British suspects were arrested in London.

The rise emerged as Scotland Yard revealed it has drafted in immigration officials to all its 72 custody suites in a drive to target foreigner suspects.

Senior officers are determined to deal more effectively with the huge numbers of foreign nationals clogging up the criminal justice system.

They want UK Border Agency staff to help send home those wanted abroad or who fail to comply with the ‘good behaviour’ conditions of their residence.

But some fear that EU nationals caught and convicted in Britain can simply return to this country after serving their sentences abroad.

The latest figures were revealed in a Freedom of Information request which showed 72,505 foreign suspects were arrested last year in the capital.

This included 79 on suspicion of murder, 708 for rape, 1,863 for robbery, 2,801 for fraud and 2,489 for burglary.

Another 2,742 were arrested because they were wanted by police, 7,524 for shoplifting and 2,516 for drink-driving after crashing their vehicle.

The rising trend is mirrored elsewhere, with the country’s second largest force, West Midlands Police, arresting 11,801 between April 2011 and March this year.

That is an increase of more than half on the previous 12 months when 7,716 foreign suspects were held.

Meanwhile, the number of foreign criminals who were convicted and deported countrywide fell from 5,342 in 2010 to 4,649 in 2011.

Senior police in London believe that at least one of five of the ‘highest harm’ offenders in the capital are non-European nationals who could be deported.

They include violent gangsters, organised criminals involved in fraud and racketeering, and predatory sex offenders.

In some cases, deported criminals have been barred from returning to Britain for up to a decade but there are fears they are able to evade border controls.

Earlier this year, a report warned that dangerous foreign criminals may be slipping through the net even when arrested as police do not carry out basic checks.

The study said officers were failing to ask about previous convictions and demanded a review of checks to ensure the public is not put at risk.

In January, a judge demanded to know why child-rapist Victor Akulic was let into Britain from Lithuania.

After arriving here, he beat and raped a woman.

He had served nine years in his home country for raping a seven-year-old he lured into his house with lemonade.

Labour immigration spokesman Chris Bryant attacked the Government’s record.

He said: ‘It’s successful prosecutions and swift deportations that count.

‘Depressingly, the Tories are removing fewer foreign offenders than before, and more are absconding.

Yet again they’re letting down the police and the public.’

A Met spokesman said the latest drive ‘is not about targeting specific communities but about us targeting criminality’.

A UKBA spokesman said: ‘Those who come to the UK must abide by our laws.

‘We will always seek to deport any foreign criminals as quickly as possible.’

Central Leeds: Police hunt on for rapist driving ‘private hire cab’

FACE OF ATTACKER: A police e-fit of the rapist. FACE OF ATTACKER: A police e-fit of the rapist.
Police are hunting a sex fiend who raped a woman after she got into what she thought was a private hire cab following a night out in Leeds city centre.

The 20-year-old victim got into the dark-coloured saloon, which police say had the appearance of being a genuine private hire vehicle, on Duncan Street, Leeds, in the early hours of Sunday. (Sept 30)

She asked the driver to take her to her Baildon home and fell asleep during the journey.
But when the woman awoke she found the driver had parked up in a remote lane on a dirt track, thought to be within about five miles of Menston, where he subjected her to a horrific ordeal in the back of the car.
After the attack, he dropped the woman off near her home.

Detective Chief Inspector Scott Wood, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “This was an attack on a young lady who believed she was being transported safely home after a night out.”

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace in connection with the attack.
DCI Wood appealed to anyone who recognises the man to contact police immediately.

He said: “This may have been a genuine private hire vehicle that had been loaned out unofficially or it could have been a genuine cab driver. The car had the appearance of being a genuine private hire vehicle. It could be a genuine driver but not necessarily. The car could have been lent to a third party or be an ex-private hire vehicle.

“I would appeal to private hire vehicle drivers to look at the e-fit and ask if it resembles anyone you have lent your car to or someone you know. We will be able to forensically eliminate anyone who is put forward as a suspect.”

The driver was described as black, aged in his late twenties and slim, but with chubby cheeks. He spoke little English and was wearing a black shirt. Anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives by calling 101.

French police on Tuesday arrested 12 suspects (adherents of the religion of peace) over the killing of two students lynched by a mob…

Police make arrests for student lynching that shocked France

French police on Tuesday arrested 12 suspects over the killing of two students lynched by a mob...

French police on Tuesday arrested 12 suspects over the killing of two students lynched by a mob armed with hammers, baseball bats and knives.

The killings last Friday in the Echirolles suburb of Grenoble sparked outrage in France and prompted President Francois Hollande to travel to the southeastern city late Monday to visit the families of the dead young men.

Hollande was accosted as he visited the poor suburb by a local resident who lambasted security forces for failing to stop the violence she said was plaguing the area.

Interior Minister Manuel Valls also travelled to the city and on Tuesday denounced what he called a "massacre" and vowed that the killers would be tracked down.

Three suspects, who may be of most interest and all have convictions for violent crimes, are still on the run, prosecutor Jean-Yves Coquillat told reporters.

Kevin Noubissi and Sofiane Tadburt, both aged 21, were beaten and stabbed to death by a gang of about a dozen people in a park. Noubissi was stabbed seven to eight times, and Tadburt 30 times, the prosecutor said.

The gang was reportedly seeking vengeance after a minor incident outside a high school involving Noubissi's younger brother.

Funerals for the two friends were due to take place Wednesday at the local mosque.

On Tuesday evening police said about 10,000 people took part in a memorial march to honour the two young men, who were said by friends and families to be model students.

Participants marched in silence while carrying white balloons and holding up placards showing photos of the victims.

Most of those arrested Tuesday in Grenoble were aged between 18 and 21, and most have criminal records, officials said.

No one has admitted guilt, the prosecutor added.

Two brothers, both in the military, were the first to be arrested in the case, police said, after being brought in for questioning on Monday. One was found near Grenoble, the other in a town about 500 kilometres (300 miles) away.

Their mother was also brought in for questioning Tuesday.

Officials in Boston are so worried about a population boom

Officials in Boston are so worried about a population boom caused by immigrant workers that they have drawn up a detailed plan on how they will cope with the change.

Over recent years there has been a big rise in the number of Eastern Europeans living and working in the Lincolnshire town. The new report makes 28 recommendations - ranging from cracking down on anti-social behaviour to calling on the Government to look at migration levels.

Immigration inquiry papers are released

EVIDENCE gathered during Boston Borough Council’s inquiry into immigration has been published in full on the authority’s website.

Full transcripts from each of the meetings held during the Task and Finish Group process have been released to allow members of the public access to all that was said over the four-month investigation, including information from educators, employers, the police and a specialist in immigration issues.

It comes ahead of the publication of an interim report by the committee leading the process, which will include recommendations on how to deal with social issues related to migration into the local area.

Chairman of the committee Coun Paul Kenny said: “I had always been determined that all of the evidence gathered would be available for all to see, in its entirety. It is now available for all to read through.

“From all of this we will make recommendations for real change to improve situations in areas we can influene, and perhaps some recommendations in areas where we have less influence.”

Next month’s report, which is a precursor to the final document, will go to public consultation before it is completed.

Coun Kenny added there would be no ‘ducking’ of the issues raised during the investigation, which saw evidence collected over eight different sessions based on questions from members of the committee and members of the public.

Three men wanted over Blackburn schoolboys robbery

Three men are wanted by police in connection with the robbery of four school teenagers who were walking home from school in Blackburn.

At around 2.15pm on Thursday September 20th, the teenagers were walking on Barton Street when they were approached by the men, who have all been described as Asian.

http://images.clicklancashire.com/admin/article/articleimages/1349179501-Male_2_CCTV.JPG

The men threatened the boys and demanded that they hand over their money and phones.

One of the boys eventually handed over a £5 note and the men left the scene via Lord Street West.

DC Dan Perkins said: "Fortunately the boys were uninjured but they were clearly left extremely shaken by what had happened and so I would appeal to anyone with any information that could help to contact us."

The first man has been described as Asian, between 16-19 years old, around five feet 10 inches tall and of stocky/fat build.

He has shaved hair, and his face appeared clean shaven. He wore a black, zip up, leather look jacket with epaulets on the shoulders, dark blue jeans and light coloured boots.

The second man was described as Asian, between 16-17 years old, of slim build and around five feet seven to eight inches tall.

He had close cropped facial hair and wore a light blue Nike cap, dark coloured hooded jacket with a green inner lining to the hood, dark blue jeans and trainers with white soles.

Officers believe a third man was also involved but they do not have a description at this stage

Anyone with information is urged to contact DC Dan Perkins at Blackburn CID on 01254 353564 or by calling 101 quoting reference number EA1208431.

Two Priests Assaulted

La Provence, the local paper of southern France, reports on a sadistic crime against two priests. This is a condensed version of the report:

Two priests were assaulted on Wednesday evening in a villa in Aubagne by two armed and masked criminals, who tortured and terrorized them, convinced that they were hiding gold bars somewhere in the house.

The burglars, certain they had found a goldmine, terrorized the men for two hours, but the priests could not reveal the location of a treasure that only existed in the minds of the criminals.

They had broken in at about 9:00 p.m. while the priest, 64, and his apprentice, 31, were in the salon. After breaking down the entry door, the two criminals were face to face with the two terrified priests, who looked down the barrel of a rifle. "Give us the gold!" they shouted, but in reply there were only timid denials.

So they forced the owner, who did not have the key, to lead them to the safe. Convinced the loot was inside, one of the hold-up men cut through the door with an electric saw. But the safe was empty. This made them angrier, and one grabbed a paper cutter and threatened the priest one last time. Since there was no response, he planted his weapon inside the ear of the victim and cut several centimeters of his flesh.

This mutilation not being sufficient, he grabbed his finger and inflicted another wound, threatening to amputate. The priest repeated that he had nothing. Out of spite, the assailants bound the two, locked them up in a room and fled, empty-handed.

Terrorized, the priests tried to get free. Finally, the younger man broke loose, and alerted a neighbor who called the police. They found the two priests in a state of shock, and took them to the ER.

It seems that during a court proceeding in 2002 involving the priest's family, the presence of these gold bars had been revealed. The hold-up men must have known this information.

Somehow, this does not sound like immigrant crime. But it could be. The article indicates that the older man suffered physical and moral injuries, and his condition was listed as serious. The city of Aubagne, not far from Marseille, where this crime took place, is the birthplace of Marcel Pagnol, author of Marius, Fanny and César, the Marseille Trilogy. The current mayor of Aubagne is a Communist. Let's hope he cares enough to do his job impartially.

Like father like sons

Like father like sons: Five of Abu Hamza's children convicted of offences ranging from bomb making to attacking police.

Four of hate preacher's sons have already served time behind bars The fifth is awaiting sentence for an armed robbery Only two of his sons, who are all over 18, haven't been in trouble with law Extremist will launch a last-ditch attempt to avoid extradition this week.

Mohammed Mustafa Kamel arrives at London Heathrow airport in 2002 after his three year prison term on terrorism charges in the Yemen city of Aden
Four have already served custodial sentences while the fifth is awaiting sentence for an armed robbery.

Abu Hamza, who is fighting extradition to the U.S., has nine children from two marriages, including a stepson with his second wife.

Of the seven sons, who are all over 18, only two have not been in trouble with the law. The two youngest children are daughters aged 16 and 13.

The preacher was married in 1980 to Valerie Traverso, a British woman, and divorced four years later after having one son, Mohammed.

Hamza has seven children with his second wife, Najat, and a stepson, Mohssin Ghailan, who was born to Najat before she married him.

Mohammed and Ghailan were jailed in Yemen in 1999, when Mohammed was 17, for plotting bomb attacks on tourist and economic targets. They returned to Britain after serving jail terms of three years and seven years respectively.

The two were arrested again in 2008 with their brother Hamza, then aged 22.

(Left to right) Hamza Mustafa Kamel, Mohamed Kamel Mostafa and Mohssin Ghailan, the three sons of jailed hook-handed cleric Abu Hamza, who exploited a loophole in the vehicle registration system to carry out a £1million luxury car scam

They were accused of operating a £1million car scam in which they fraudulently obtained documents for luxury cars and either sold them or used them as collateral for loans that were never repaid.

Ghailan, from Shepherd's Bush, west London, was described as a 'key player' in the fraud. He was jailed for four years. Hamza and Mohammed were also jailed.

Their younger brother, Yasser, admitted burglary in 2008 when he stole a laptop. He was given 120 hours' community service. He was then sent to a young offenders institution for 12 months in 2010 for attacking a policeman during protests outside the Israeli embassy in London.

In August this year Abu Hamza's 20-year-old son, Imran, was convicted of a £75,000 armed robbery at a jeweller's shop in King's Lynn, Norfolk. He is due to be sentenced in November.

His two other sons have not been in trouble with the law.

Uthman, 24, is an imam in Acton, west London; his younger brother Sufyan, 18, was named on a poster as attending a charity rally for Syria in February alongside Haithem al-Haddad, a radical preacher.

Uthman recited a prayer outside the American embassy last year during a demonstration in support of Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist who was arrested in Afghanistan on suspicion of links to Al-Qaeda and jailed in the US for 86 years.

Uthman is becoming a well known figure in the west London Muslim community, mainly through his recitals of religious texts which have been described as 'beautiful'.

Donna Traverso, the daughter of Valerie Traverso, told The Times in 2006 that her early memories of Abu Hamza were of a loving stepfather until he turned to fundamentalism.
When her stepbrother Mohammed was three years old, Abu Hamza took him to Egypt to visit family members. Neither she nor her mother saw him again for 16 years.

'He left me without saying goodbye, destroyed my family and told his own son that his mother was dead,' Donna Traverso said.

Mohammed has said he does not agree with his father's radical preaching and is proud to be British. However, when he formed a rap duo, Lionz of Da Dezert, his lyrics praised Hezbollah and Hamas, the armed wings of which are both classified by Britain as terrorist organisations.

The family has also attracted controversy for its cost to Britain. The TaxPayers' Alliance has estimated that Abu Hamza has cost the taxpayer £2.75m in welfare, housing and legal benefits.

At one time, the family was living in a £600,000 five-bedroom council house in Shepherd's Bush and claiming £680 a week in benefits.

Inayat Bunglawala, of the Muslims4UK group, told The Sunday Times: 'It is sad to see that some of Abu Hamza's children have been convicted of criminal acts.

'It is an extremely poor legacy... one can only hope his children at least may be able to shake off the negative influences and begin to rebuild their lives.'
