Trio are jailed after admitting child exploitation offences

TWO men and a woman from Burton have been jailed for child exploitation offences.

Yasser Rasool, 25, of Branston Road, was sent to prison for two years. He pleaded guilty at Stafford Crown Court to three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.

Mohammed Sahir, 24, of South Oak Street, was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment after he admitted to "facilitating the commission of a child sex offence" on April 30, 2011.

Nicola Martin, 33, of Craven Street, was jailed for 16 months after she admitted "facilitating the commission of child sex offences" between January 1 and May 1, 2011.

All three were given an indefinite Sex Offenders' Prevention Order and will be listed on the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years.

Detective Inspector Andy Maxfield, from the team, said: "The protection and care of vulnerable young people is a top priority for Staffordshire Police.

"The Child Exploitation Team is dedicated to tackling child exploitation issues on a multi-agency basis through prevention, safeguarding and enforcement."
