Taxi driver fined £35 for killing Birmingham cyclist

A taxi driver who killed a 20-year-old cyclist in a horror road crash has walked free from court - after receiving just a £35 fine.

Ichhapal Bhamra escaped with an  ‘insulting’ £35 fine and just three points on his licence after he knocked down and killed student as he cycled in Solihull. 

The taxi driver, 54, had only been charged with driving without due care and attention, despite carrying Tom’s body for 90 metres on his bonnet, before colliding with a tree.
