The group has been targeting elderly victims

A gang of thieves caught on CCTV distracting potential victims at cashpoints in Manchester are believed to still be offending.

Greater Manchester Police have released CCTV imagery of an incident that took place at Sainsbury's on Cross Street in the city centre on Christmas eve.

The group has been targeting elderly victims, watching as they enter their PIN number before claiming there is a problem with the machine.

They then attempt to seize their victim's cards and use them to make purchases a short time later.

Similar incidents have taken place at Halifax and Natwest branches at Piccadilly Gardens and at Santander on Cross Street at about 4.25pm on Monday 10th December, 2012.  link
