Force Begins Publication Of Dismissal Details

A force’s initiative to publish the details of officers who have been dismissed or have resigned in disciplinary circumstances will bolster public confidence, the Police Federation has said.

Neil Bowles, Chairman of South Yorkshire Police’s Joint Branch Board, said the initiative to publish details of disciplinary actions would improve openness and transparency in the force.

In an interview with PoliceOracle.com he said that the move was appropriate given “the historic problems” that the Force had faced.
