A video, uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday, shows the duo having an increasingly aggravated argument. The woman can then be heard insulting the man off-camera.
He then gets up and punches her before he's dragged away by other passengers.
The incident is believed to have taken place on Tuesday evening on the Northern Line between Old Street and Moorgate.
